The Band Stand is Here!
The Lansing Lions Club finished the new bandstand in Myers Park just in time for Lansing Harbor Festival !  The festival was rung in as Town Supervisor Steve Farkas and Village Mayor Don Hartill rang the bells.  The very first group to perform on the bandstand was the Lansing High School Cabaret.  The first professional band to perform on the structure was The Burns Sisters.

Later in the day Jackie Baker awarded the first annual Baker Cup award for the best barbecue sauce to Tyler Engels (lower right).

The Bandstand was built by Lansing Lions volunteers led by John Moravec, who also donated some of his construction crew for the difficult parts.

Lansing Throw Benefits Myers Band Stand
Lansing ThrowThe Lansing Lions Club is selling a throw to raise money to build a band stand in Myers Park.  For only $48 you can own your own 78x48 navy blue and off white two-ply cotton throw that commemorates our town and help fund something that will benefit the whole community for many years to come.

The throw is made of machine washable cotton, and has scenes from the different areas of Lansing.  Depicted on the throw are Lansing Community Center (which the Lions donated to the Town of Lansing),  Rogues Harbor Inn in South Lansing, the lighthouse at Myers Park, Ludlowville Falls,  the first Lansing Central High School that was known as Ludlowville High, Cargill Salt Mine and a North Lansing barn and a cow that represents farming.
